Q: Must I serve raw fish for my sushi dishes to be to be really authentic?
A:
No! There are many kinds of sushi. There are no recipes in Recipes From Tomoko’s Samurai Kitchen, that require eating raw fish.

Q: Will I have to buy any special equipment, pots, pans or bowls to prepare and serve your recipes?
A:
Most kitchens have everything in them that is needed to prepare and serve these dishes. Some hosts and hostesses prefer to serve Japanese food in Japanese style bowls and plates, but that is their preference and is not at all necessary. Where a certain tool would make it easier to prepare a dish, Recipes From Tomoko’s Samurai Kitchen, explains and illustrates that tool, but remember it is always optional and other things in your kitchen can be used as well.

Q: Will I be able to find all the ingredients I need at my local supermarket or grocery store?
A:
Yes, virtually everything called for in these recipes is widely available. But if you have an Asian market in your area, you will be able to find more authentic Japanese food-stuffs that will help make your dishes even more authentic. Besides, it might be a new and fun experience for you to shop in a local exotic Asian food market.

Q: If I make too much, can leftovers be refrigerated or frozen?
A:
Because no raw fish is involved, the rules for refrigerating or freezing leftovers are the same as you apply to any other food you prepare.

Q: Is it hard to be successful following your recipes?
A:
Quite the opposite is true. Recipes From Tomoko’s Samurai Kitchen reads like a child reading book. Many wonderfully clear photos and very few words. It’s a snap to follow step-by-step to great success in the kitchen.

Q: If I need help with a recipe, how do I get it?
A:

I might not be available at the exact moment you are preparing your meal, so I suggest that you review the recipes you intend to make at least a week in advance. Then if you have questions or need help, send an email to me and I will respond.
